PROPHECY UNVEILED...THE LAST DAYS
THE SIN OF IDOLATRY
"Children, it is the last hour; and just as you heard that antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have
arisen; from this we know that it is the last hour."
These words are spoken in 1 John 2:18. It is indeed the last hour and many antichrists, those who oppose
Christ, are in the world. But these antichrists are not walking around with a sign on their head saying that
they are an antichrist, they are disguising themselves as Christians, as Believers and supporters of the
Christian faith.
You must be very careful lest you be taken back by their subtle introduction of heresies or false doctrines.
Satan is pulling every punch imaginable to get Christians to turn away from the faith. He knows that he has
only a short time and he wants to take as many Christians with him into the Lake of Fire. The tragedy is, many
Christians do not know how short the time is and are unknowingly falling into Satan's traps.
There is no doubt that there is coming one who will be the Antichrist of all antichrists. He will be the one
spoken of in the books of Daniel, Matthew, and Mark who commits the abomination of desolation; the one
who will set himself up in a temple of God and call himself a god, and will cause all of the earth to worship
him. The book of Revelation 13: 11-18, calls him "the beast" and says that people will be forced to worship
not only the beast, but the image of the beast as well. Satan knows that in order for this to happen, he must
find a way to make believers in the Lord Jesus Christ submit; to fall away from the faith and to accept this
Antichrist. And if they do, they will have committed one of the greatest acts against their God that they could
ever commit, idolatry.
The word idolatry comes from the Greek word, eidololatria, meaning, "image worship" or "worship of a
heathen god." The Israelites suffered great calamities and sometimes defeated by their enemies because
of their idolatry. They were quick to take on the gods of other people living in their presence, forsaking their
own God. They even stooped to making images of these false gods and bowed down and worshipped them.
Cunningly, Satan is working through present-day antichrists to cause believers in Jesus Christ to fall into the
trap of idolatry; one of the very things that God hates!
Now what is the plan? What steps has the Devil contrived to get some Christians to the place where they will
succumb to the worship of the Antichrist? One of the first steps is to get followers of Jesus Christ to believe
that the Bible is not the inerrant Word of God. There are those who call themselves Christians, yet do not
believe that the entire Bible is truth? They do not believe that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God. Inerrant
means that God preserved the truth of the Bible down through the ages without error. The spirit of Antichrist
is already at work. The Devil's plan is already in motion. There are two frequent arguments of those who do
not accept the Bible as the Word of God. First, the Bible is full of errors because it was written by humans
and humans make mistakes. Second, when King James ordered its translation into English, the original
interpretations were lost in the translation.
Poor, misguided creatures. If they would just use common sense, they would know that the Bible is the
inspired word of God. Consider this! Would the sinful nature of man allow him to write in a book, over and
over again, how sinful he is? The sinful nature of man would never allow himself to convict himself of
fornication and adultery. The sinful nature of man would never allow him to convict himself of homosexuality
and call it an abomination to God. The sinful nature of man would never write in a book that are
consequences for his sins or that his body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. No, my friends. The Bible was not
written by mere men; they were men inspired to record what God gave them to record.
When you say that you are a Christian, yet do not believe that the entire Bible is true, then you are also
expressing doubt in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. John 1:1-8 says that the Word is Christ and the Word
became flesh and dwelt among us.
You see, if the Devil can convince you that the Bible is not the Word of God, then he has a good chance of
convincing you that Jesus is NOT the Son of God. And, if you buy into that lie, that Jesus Christ is not the Son
of God, then you will be more susceptible to believing in one who will come and say that he is the messiah,
The Antichrist.
Another step in Satan's plan is to cause you to become complacent and compromising as to who God is.
The spirit of Antichrist is subtlety teaching that more than one god is acceptable. This spirit is teaching that
we all worship the same God, we just call Him by different names. Do not fall into this trap. As followers of
Christ, for us there is only ONE God and not all of mankind is worshipping Him. If their god does not have a
son whose name is Yashuah, Jesus Christ, the Anointed One; the Messiah, the King of Kings, then their god
is not our God. Listen to the Apostle John:
"Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God; because many
false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God; every spirit that confesses that
Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God; and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God;
and this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming, and now it is already in the
world."
As followers of Christ, we must not be passive or nonchalant in the presence of others when it comes to
identifying our God. The one thing that separates Christians from others is the Son of God, Jesus Christ. As
Christians, you need to know and believe what Christ says in John 14'6; "I am the way, and the truth, and the
life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me."
God says repeatedly in the book of Isaiah...
"...Before me there was no God formed, and there will be none after Me." (Isaiah 43:10)
"...I am the first and I am the last, and there is no God besides Me." (Isaiah 44:6)
"...I am the Lord, and there is no other; Besides Me there is no God." (Isaiah 45:5)
"...For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is no one like Me." (Isaiah 46:9)
Soon all of the world will know this God!
